The Timaru Plunket Art Show is an annual fundraising exhibition supporting the Timaru branch of Plunket, with 2026 marking its 48th year. Held at the Aigantighe Art Gallery, the two-week exhibition showcases a curated selection of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass and jewellery by artists from across New Zealand. The popular opening night regularly sells out, attracting over 230 guests, and features a "best price" auction where many works exceed their catalogue price. Over the past eight years, the exhibition has raised more than $300,000 for Timaru Plunket while providing collectors with the opportunity to discover outstanding contemporary artists from around the country.
