In Search Of A Truer Nature

Astor Bristed Gallery, Arrowtown

41 Buckhingham Street, Coachman’s Hall, Level 1

18th March - June

“In this series, I have shifted the focus away from representing the world around me and towards my own internal landscape. Painting is becoming an activity that is searching for a new meaning. It’s about tapping into my natural instincts and intuition, letting it come out in the most truthful way possible that is unhindered by what I think I should do or how it should look. I want to discover and utilise my expression in its truest form. Ultimately, I’m trying to get out of the way and let the painting happen as it is meant to.”

Holly Zandbergen

Holly Zandbergen’s show ‘In Search of a Truer Nature’ comprises ten decadent original works, built up with thickly applied oils resulting in an appealing depth that draws the eye and indulges the viewer.

The series is inspired by her mother’s renowned garden.
