“This painting came from a desire to push the subject further into abstraction. Working purely from my memory of a garden, I used the leftover paint from a previous work and allowed colour, texture, and form to emerge intuitively. Rather than trying to depict a place, I responded instinctively to what was happening on the canvas, trusting a visual language shaped by memory, gesture, and emotion.”
